Factors affecting the adsorption capacity of honeycomb activated carbon

Jul 28, 2021

1. Iodine value (400-1300)

Iodine value refers to the amount of iodine adsorbed by activated carbon in 0.02n12/kl aqueous solution. The iodine value and diameter are greater than 10? Is associated with the pore surface area.

Iodine value is one of the criteria to judge the price of activated carbon.

2. Butane number

Butane number refers to the amount of butane adsorbed by activated carbon per unit weight after saturated air and butane pass through the carbon bed at a specific temperature and pressure.

3. Ash (6-16)

There are two kinds of ash of activated carbon, one is surface ash and the other is internal ash. Usually, the ash of activated carbon refers to internal ash.

4. Moisture (< 5)

Moisture is the amount of water contained in carbon, that is, the percentage of water adsorbed in activated carbon by weight.
